About the Owner Barbara Kanninen has over twenty years of professional experience in the area of environmental economics.  In addition to her work as a freelance consultant, she has been a senior advisor to Stratus Consulting in Boulder, CO, an assistant professor of environmental policy at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, a senior economist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and a Gilbert F. White Fellow at Resources for the Future in Washington, D.C.  In 2009, Barbara and two coauthors received the prestigious Publication of Enduring Quality Award from the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. She is the editor of a well-regarded, academic book on the valuation of environmental amenities and the author of a number of peer-reviewed articles published in journals, such as the Journal of Marketing Research, Land Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and Transportation Research.
